If you didn't know, my Derek Bentley reference was a cause celebre case involving two young lads who shot a copper, Bentley was actually under arrest at the time but the other fella still had a gun, Bentley said "let them have it", to which the jury took in the more sinister meaning context of his phrase, the other fella who did the shooting was too young to hang but Bentley wasn't and did hang

A lot of it was genius Nurse, but some of the weapons thugs used (recently) were horrendous.
Lumps of wood with hundred nails stuck in it all over to smack someone with.

Went to the crime exhibition at the Museum of London last weekend and it was very satisfying seeing the ropes there that were used to hang people.
Didn't fuck about in those days, though the odd innocent did get it.
Still, my favourite objects there was the shotgun umbrella and the binoculars someone had made for a woman who had dumped him, that when she used them 2 spikes shot out into her eyes.
Thick bitch.

I don't see what is not to understand. They were raised by ####s and they themselves are ####s. I expect it's a combination of nurture and nature. Probably psychopaths. Lots of info out there about psychopathy, with evidence pointing to them being born psychopaths (nature) and their upbringing shapes how shitty they eventually become (nurture). Someone I am close to is a very high functioning psychopath who had the immense good fortune to also have very high intelligence and excellent parents. As a result he is a high flyer. Utterly fearless, ruthless and a charismatic womaniser. Would never physically hurt anybody. But many psychopaths are rootless, no-hopers and prone to violence.
It keeps happening because scum make terrible parents and they often breed scum as a result. You wouldn't be able to stomach real solutions, so what will be achieved by 'trying to understand' what is already very obvious and easy to understand. Especially as nothing will be done to change these people's behavior or limit their potential to do damage?

How could we know what the solution is (if there is one) if we don't understand the problem?
Also I'm just curious as to why someone would stove someone's head in for no apparent reason.

Could someone answer a probably simple question
If these girls are criminally responsible for their crimes why can't they be named ? When they get to aged 18 will their names be allowed to be published ? If not, why not

Cholo, understanding why they did it is an utterly pointless exercise. Even if you could get to the truth (he said, she said, etc) what would be achieved? 'Trying to prevent this sort of thing happening again, you say? 'Trying to understand and think of ways to prevent abusive parenting, social breakdown, lawlessness, etc'?
But what is the point? People don't have the stomach to do what would be necessary to prevent scum breeding scum.

Had only really seen this story through the headlines but have just read the BBC report.
Those two little cunts need putting down. No two ways about it. The violence, the length of time it was inflicted over, the fact that they went out for two hours and then came back and carried it on
